Grey and Glamourous Ritz Carlton Wedding by Truly You Events

Unassuming glamour is what comes to mind when I see this wedding. Classic details like monogrammed invitations, the bride’s all white rose bouquet, the groom’s sharp black suit and bow tie are all tell-tale signs of subtle elegance but there’s also unmistakeable hints of glamour in the details. Like the amazing towering centerpieces, like the beautiful lace pattern on the cake, like the bride’s GORGEOUS Vera Wang wedding gown… The best of Philly’s wedding vendors came together to make this dreamy wedding come true and we can’t wait to show it to you.

From the bride and groom, Megan & Paul:

“For the ceremony, we wanted to keep all of the details as simple and as classic as possible. The ceremony was beautiful, traditional, and extremely close to both of our hearts. We added extra instrumentals for the music throughout the ceremony. After the ceremony, it was important to Paul and I that we capture some moments at Villanova. We worked with Sarah DiCicco Photography to capture various photos of us throughout campus. We then headed to some spots in Philadelphia, beginning at the Rodin museum, following with Second Bank and a few other places to take some romantic pictures of the wedding day that put a creative twist on “typical” wedding photography.

For the reception, we knew the Ritz Carlton Philadelphia was the perfect place. Most importantly, we wanted a space that would allow for a fun, party atmosphere. With many out-of-town guests, we also loved the idea that it would serve as a fun weekend getaway. We loved the classic feel of their Exchange Room for the cocktail hour juxtaposed with the large, glamorous ballroom full of chandeliers. Throughout our reception, we carried through our white and grey color palate and added in touches of glamour through details, such as mercury silver candle votives, mirrors, and large English garden roses. Synergetic Sound & Lighting helped us to create an intimate and glamorous feel through romantic candlelit lighting. Petals Lane was also fabulous in hearing in our floral vision and putting it into play. As was our band, Milan 77, who had all of our guests on the dance floor the entire night.

For special details, we carried through our white and grey monogram from the table numbers, to the beautiful gray and white invitations, to our grey lace wedding cake. We were also sure to add in personalized and fun details via festive grey and white chevron straws, signature “his and hers” cocktails, and our instagram hashtag (#meganandpaullynch). We also incorporated black and white photos of family and our beloved Chihuahua mix, Daisy. Last but certainly not least, we had a large, custom backlit “LOVE” sign built by Mellow Yellow Designs that incorporated the Villanova “V” in signature blue and white colors and tied everything together.

During the final moments of our day, we worked with Sarah DiCicco and Chrissy Lehman and team to take some beautiful photos in front of City Hall. We used glass votives of varying sizes and heights with candles and circled them around us. To top it off, we added in some fun sparklers to end our very special day!”
