Charu and Aurpon’s sweet love for one another is so present during their intimate engagement at home. Gallo Imaging captured these sweethearts during some candid moments in the kitchen, their backyard, and Kuser Farm Park. What started as a long distance relationship blossomed into a now wonderful marriage between these two love-birds. Keep scrolling to hear more about this couple’s love story and how it all began!
How They Met
“We met through a family friend. Aurpon lived in Indiana at the time and I lived in New Jersey. We conversed for hours on the phone and Facetime then finally we met a month later while he was traveling to NJ for a friends wedding. Our first date was a romantic dinner at a French restaurant. The day after we attended a friend’s wedding and we knew we had chemistry immediately! It’s kind of ironic since Aurpon is a Chemist by profession.”
Charu: “What I love about Aurpon is how kind and considerate he is. He is always willing to go out of his way to help someone, provide guidance, and is always kind and polite. I know that I can always count on him which is such a deep level of trust that you should always have with a partner.”
Aurpon: “What I love about Charu is the great lengths she goes to put a smile on anyone’s face. Whether it’s through her actions, her laugh, or her delicious baking, she always has a way of making any room brighter.”
The Proposal
“It began with a small dinner with my parents at one of Aurpon’s favorite pizza places. Later in the night, he said I need to show you something. He gave me three gifts – one was a jacket, then a rose gold amethyst necklace and then he said but ‘the greatest gift I can ever give you…. is myself (showed me the ring) but only if you’ll have me.’ I remember being so overjoyed that I jumped up and down, smiling, and hugging and after a few minutes of overjoyed screaming Aurpon calmly stated ‘uh Charu you have to say yes…’ I then said yay! yes yes yes yes of course! woohoo. We then went and celebrated with my parents over a glass of champagne.”
Engagement Session Inspiration
“Aurpon and I are both simple folks and love to stay home, relax, and cook. Whether we cook together or separate, we are whizzes in the kitchen for our own reasons/skills. Aurpon is a chemist by trade so his inspiration is Alton Brown. I love all things sweet, so my inspiration has always been baking. We chose to do a few shots in my backyard, pictures with my adorable puppy, Xena (who I LOVE), and some cake shots in the kitchen. Then traveled to Kuser Farm Park for some beautiful sunset shots together.”
The Wedding
“Aurpon and I got married in October 2016 at the Mountain Lakes House in Princeton, NJ. In November 2016 we also had a small wedding ceremony in India. We recently made a huge cross-country drive to California where we now reside in Redwood City.”
“Leah was amazing at everything! she was super thoughtful, considerate and patient. I really wanted my dog to be a part of the majority of our shots so she really was patient with me when my fluffy pup was being a bit fussy at times. She was fun, kind, and it didn’t feel difficult to pose in front of the camera. Leah shot our engagement shoot and also our wedding and did an absolutely spectacular job. I would recommend her to any of my friends!”
