Jessica and Darren’s Mod Engagement Session at Parc by Lauren Schwarz Photography

Jessica and Darren are simply a charming couple, and their mod engagement session brings a different light to some well known Philadelphia locales. Dining at Parc, strolling through Rittenhouse, this engagement session is a refreshing illustration of downtown Philly. I love that this couple has a major sense of style, Jessica’s Anthropology gown is definitely a show stopper, and her dapper beau Darren perfectly matches her visage.  Lauren Schwarz, is amazing when it comes to capturing beautiful moments like these, and the photos from J+D’s session are pure magic. Thanks so much Lauren for sharing this lovely couple with us, keep scrolling to enjoy this lovely modern e-session!

From the Bride-to-be: “Darren and I were set up by a friend of my friend from high school! Our first date was at the 700 [club] in Northern Liberties and Hop Sing Laundromat in July 2013.”

“Darren has been a source of strength and steadfastness ever since we first started dating. Our relationship has just worked. It was the first time that I felt the ease that people always reference when they find “The One.” He always knows how to make me laugh and I’m never afraid to be my true self around him. He makes me a better person.

I asked him the same question and he said I make him happier than anyone else ever has and I too make him a better person. We raise each other up.”

How did he propose?

“It was on Sunday, May 31st. We decided to check an item off of our to-do “List of Adventures” and finally go canoeing in Princeton on the Delaware and Raritan Canal. Darren proposed while we were resting on a small landing along the canal with a solitaire diamond ring; a family heirloom gifted him by his mother.Fun fact: when we were getting ready for the outing, Darren had put on a shirt featuring the character Chunk from The Goonies doing the iconic “truffle shuffle.” Darren asked me if I thought it was funny. I didn’t and said “just don’t wear it when we get engaged.” I had no idea what he was planning to do!”

“We wanted to take pictures in the city where we met and where we plan to start our life together. Outside of that we wanted it to feel natural and like an expression of our personalities. We spend a lot of time in the greater Rittenhouse area; enjoying the beautiful architecture and the many BYOBs.”

“We started wedding planning this past summer. We have a date: November 19, 2016, a church: Mary Mother of the Redeemer in North Wales PA (my childhood parish), a reception venue: The Aldie Mansion in Doylestown (a family favorite), and an awesome photographer (Lauren!). Our reception is going to be black tie optional. Our colors are midnight navy, ecru and marsala with copper (metallic) and pink dogwood accents.

We have had so much wonderful support from our family and friends. It’s been a very special time for us and it’s going smoothly so far! “
