Especially when they involve the natural ambiance that has been cultured at Terrain at Styers, draped in pale pink blooms and mint green succulents from Faye + Renee, and an array of adornments from BHLDN! This elegant shoot was created by the prodigious Jennifer Baumann Photography, alongside Kristin Park from The Queen of Hearts Wedding Consultants to formulate this more than perfect inspiration shoot. Terrain at Styers is an inspiring place all on it’s own. One trip there and you will want to come home and completely redecorate your entire house!! But for a wedding photographer, one trip there and you will dream of the day that you will have the opportunity to photograph a wedding at this beautiful place. So naturally, the next best thing is to do a styled shoot inspired by the unique decor and natural elegance that is Terrain
I met with Kristin Park of Queen of Hearts Wedding Consultants to discuss my ideas for this shoot. I wanted her assistance in pulling everything together and involving quality business in the industry who would share in our vision. We were very blessed to work with such incredible vendors. Everyone exceeded our expectations!
We wanted the colors and feel of everything to be soft, fresh, and simple. I chose the color palate of pinks, mint green, gold, and gray. We then created our own Pinterest board of ideas that we shared with everyone who we asked to be involved with the shoot. This way each vendor could see the entire vision and not just solely their part in it.
The thing about doing a styled shoot in a large scale such as this, is that you just never know exactly how it is all going to come together until it happens. We were all pretty much squealing with excitement all day long as each piece of the puzzle was put in place! The dresses fit our models perfectly! The table decor was exquisite! Even the food that Terrain prepared for me to photograph was meticulously plated by the chef himself. The biggest unknown is always the weather. Thankfully we were blessed with a beautiful summer day which made for magical lighting for the outdoor portraits.
All of the vendors involved were great to work with and I recommend all of them to my brides and grooms!
