Take Good Care of Your Health

Planning a wedding can affect your mind, body, and soul so it’s imperative to take good care of you!  Whether it’s exercising for ten minutes a day or starting that diet you’ve been meaning to do since last year – vow to make those changes before the wedding date.  Clear your mind by going for a walk with your partner, or mediate after a long day of vendor meetings.  New Year’s is also a good time to implement mindfulness into your wedding plans, it’ll help you stay focused and keep a healthy mind the day-of.

Stay Positive and Stress-Free

Positivity is the key to staying stress-free!  Don’t fret over a small decision that you can’t change, instead focus on the things that you can.  If you can’t secure the venue you fell in love with, no worries, find another venue with the same qualities that you’re looking for.  Remember that at the end of the day the only thing that really matters is saying “I Do” to your soon to be hubby.  The small little details that go into your ceremony and reception aren’t worth sprouting grey hairs for.  Keep a positive energy going to keep your stress levels down and you’ll notice your outlook on planning will change tremendously!  Planning doesn’t have to be a daunting task.  Enjoy each moment and step along the way and don’t worry about the minor details so much.

Make a Plan and Stick to it

One of the first things you’ll want to do is come up with a budget and create a timeline.  This will help make decision making that much easier.  Whether you decided on a strict 150 person guest list or your final budget doesn’t allow you to splurge on some vendors – stick to your guns and don’t settle for anything less than what you need.  Plan out what you envision, and actually stick to it.  You’ll thank yourself later knowing that you had a clear vision that you made a reality!

Be Kind and Give to Others

Nobody likes a bridezilla.  Be kind to your vendors helping you make your wedding day come true.  Kindness goes a long way, and the more you dish out the more you receive.  Your family and friends included.  Thank your bridesmaids, and wedding party for all of their help during this time and don’t forget that they’re all here to support you!  Your special day is coming near, and it will be ALL about you (and your new hubby).  But giving to others and sharing your joy can make your wedding day even more special.  Think about giving a charitable donation in your guest’s honor.  Or you and your partner could donate to a foundation like Wish Upon a Wedding to give someone less fortunate the gift of having an amazing wedding too.  The holiday season may be over but now is an even better time to give back, trust me it’ll all come back tenfold on the wedding day.

Enjoy Your Engagement

Take time for just the two of you, and enjoy this journey before you both share your nuptials.  You’re getting married for a reason, don’t lose sight of that.  If anything go on more date nights and spend time planning the wedding together.  This time will pass by, and before you know it, it’ll be the day you’ve been waiting for.  Enjoy it while you can, and remember that the small resolutions and goals you make now will help it all go by so much smoother.
