From the Photographer, Rachel Betson Photography: “I met with my clients upon booking their wedding, and Nicole was very clear that she wanted their engagement session to be as romantic as possible. For me, the best time in an outdoor public location where you can be as romantic and intimate as you can is during the sunrise! I feel like most people go for the sunset’s and the golden hour, which is wonderful! However, during sunrise, no one is around, the air is soft, the sun is just waking up, and its only the two of them. It is so romantic just thinking about it! I was so happy to hear that Nicole and Jimmy were both on board with the idea! We went to Tyler State Park in Newtown PA by the Schofield Covered Bridge. Not a single person was there! We met at 5:45am (yes, 5:45am) and got to talking about our days plans. I saw how Jimmy was looking at her and I just decided to start rolling with it – it was absolutely perfect! Nicole and Jimmy were such troopers for getting there so early – I cannot wait to document their wedding day! We didn’t get the heavy sun coming up, but the morning was so airy and dewy! I would take a sunrise session any day!”
How They Met:
“We met through my best friend. Her boyfriend was friends with Jimmy and we did a double date the first night we met.”
“I absolutely love that he lights up my world. He literally makes my heart so happy whenever I see him. Its like we are soul mates. We both feel the same way. We can never stay mad at each other. It’s impossible.”
The Proposal:
“He proposed on Christmas Eve at my sisters house before church. My sister was pregnant with her 2nd child and told me she got a cake to surprise us with the baby reveal. She made me stand in front of the cake with my eyes closed while she opened up the box. When I opened my eyes there was a stick figure with red hair on the cake and it said “babe will you marry me” on it. I was confused for a minute until I looked to my left and Jimmy was getting down on one knee with a ring. I totally lost it and the tears started flowing. It was the best moment of my life. I felt like I was floating.”
Engagement Session Inspiration:
“The inspiration for our engagement photos was romance. I wanted candid photos that showed “us” in them and how happy we make each other. Rachel went above and beyond to capture that and I couldn’t be more impressed with them. They are literally perfection and we love them so much. She was so creative and had so many better ideas than I did. Lol. They are perfect.”
Wedding Planning Experience:
“Wedding planning for us is coming to the final months and things are going pretty smoothly (surprisingly). We are very organized and I have to say making the list was the most stressful part. Everything else seems to be falling into place. It is a lot of work, don’t get me wrong , but it’s not as bad as I thought it was going to be.”
Engagement Session Experience:
“Our engagement photographer Rachel has been nothing short of amazing. She is our most reliable, organized and personable vendor. I have not had to worry about one thing with her and she has literally taken so much stress from me during this whole experience. During our session we had so much fun and she made us completely comfortable so we could be ourselves in the pictures. It felt like we were with a lifelong friend and it was such a fun experience.
