Rachel and Aviad’s engagement session was a beautiful introduction to their rustic wedding at the Brandywine Manor House! Philter Photography and Aubert Films captured every illustrious detail, and endearing moment during this celebration of love. The vibrant florals crafted by Whimsical Welcome, and the baby blue bridesmaids dresses, were just a few elements that made this wedding radiate with intensity. This couple is undeniably head-over-heels for each other, and their special day is definitely a reflection of burgeoning true love!
How They Met:
“Aviad and I met through a mutual friend – she was one of my best friends from college and a childhood friend of Aviad’s. After some witty Facebook messages back and forth, we met in person and the rest is history.”
The Proposal:
“Aviad had a whole special night planned that was supposed to begin with a proposal in front of the Logan Square Fountain and end with a picnic and champagne at an outdoor show at Independence Mall. The weather ended up being horrible that day – rainy and cold – and the show was cancelled so Aviad had to quickly come up with a backup plan. We had spent the day on the sofa Netflix binging. Aviad kept trying to convince me to get frozen yogurt with him at our favorite place on Callowhill, but the last thing I wanted to do was go out in the rain and cold. Finally, I agreed to go. On the walk down he said he wanted to go on a detour and capture some photos of City Hall and Logan Square Fountain. It was all a setup because once we got there, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!”
Wedding Planning Experience:
“Originally, we were hoping for a Fall wedding because we love that time of year and wanted about a year to plan. The venue we ended up picking only had availability in August so we had only nine months to plan the wedding. The wedding planning was more time consuming than we expected and most weekends were spent trying to finalize plans. We were happy to have our weekends back once it was all done!”
Wedding Inspiration:
“I would describe the inspiration for our wedding as “rustic elegance.” Living in the city, we knew we wanted a more rural backdrop for our wedding. We were looking for a rustic setting with lots of land and many outdoor options for the ceremony (of course it ended up raining! But we still had a beautiful indoor ceremony). We also decided on bright florals with an otherwise muted and more subtle color tone.”
Best Wedding Memory:
“The best memory for both of us was being lifted in the chairs during the Hora, which is customary at Jewish weddings. Nothing else compared to being surrounded by our closest family and friends and I think the huge smiles in all of the pictures taken during this time serve as proof!”
Wedding Planning Advice:
“The greatest piece of advice we can give to couples planning a wedding is to make an effort to take a step back during the wedding planning process and take time for the just the two of you. It can be a stressful time and taking a step back can help bring some clarity and make you realize what is really important.”
