Intimate Eco-Friendly DIY Wedding
Amy and Troy’s enchanting fete implemented eco-friendly details, DIY elements, and live music which made their day feel truly special and intimate. The Maas Building was the perfect setting for an indoor ceremony draped in candles and gorgeous blooms followed by cocktails and dinner in the beautiful outdoor gardens. Stems by Meredith created a gorgeous floral backdrop for the ceremony and displayed potted succulents for the reception which set the rustic mood for the day. Keeping with their natural theme this couple gave their guests plantable wedding invitations which were well-suited as they continue to let their love grow. Family members and friends contributed to almost every detail that went into this celebration, and the love that was felt on this day can be felt through every photograph thanks to Celia Ragonese Wedding Photography. From the Bride
“Unlike a lot of girls, I never envisioned myself having a wedding. I hadn’t dreamt up my perfect day and sorted out all the details in my mind. The idea of a wedding felt so foreign to me. That changed when Troy proposed. I was so overjoyed and bursting with love that I wanted to share it with family and friends. I wanted to have a wedding celebration, but I didn’t want to get lost in the details. It was important to us to keep it simple, to let our love be what filled the room. When we saw the Maas building in April, a perfect garden space, we knew that was where we wanted to be. They didn’t have many dates available so we decided on a July wedding. With about 90 days to plan, we called in all of our friends and family to make it happen.”

The Proposal
“We got engaged on our one year anniversary. We were scheduled to go on a vacation to Tobago the week after our anniversary so I was already a little suspicious. My brother (who made the engagement ring) told Troy I was onto him, so he decided to do it early. We went to Double Knot for dinner and on the walk home, we were discussing all of the promises he had made me in the last year. He mentioned that he had promised to marry me (which he had) and then got down on one knee in front of City Hall and asked me. Of course, I cried like a baby.”
Most Sentimental Wedding Moment
“Our vows. We wrote our own and we could barely keep it together while we were exchanging them. They were so heartfelt and pure. We were surprised with how relaxed we felt. Nothing could have rattled us that day. We were just so happy and in love with each other, everyone there and all the details.”
Wedding Inspiration
“Our wedding theme was nature. We both love plants and flowers, so we filled the room with succulents and florals. Doreen, who did our décor, created a giant A and T and filled them with tons of succulents. We also had teacups and little glasses with succulents in them for our guests to take home.”
Wedding Details
“My mom and our dear friend Doreen made all of the decor and centerpieces. Doreen painted signs, nurtured succulents and plants and made every dream of mine come true. She hung lanterns and filled the room with candles. My brother made and refurbished our rings. My sister made our delicious cake. Our friend Meredith Skene (Stems by Meredith) did our flowers and dreamt up the most magical backdrop for our ceremony. Colin Dooley/Attic Tapes, a friend of Troy’s, was our DJ and kept us dancing until the wee hours of the night. We were so lucky that it wasn’t just our love for each other that filled the room, it was the love and contribution of all of our family and friends that made it so extremely extraordinary. It was the most enchanting night of our lives.”
