How They Met:

“We met at a social, cocktail party type of event at the end of our junior year of college. We were both surprised that we had gone 3 years without crossing paths and talked all night long. Of course Will didn’t believe Harriet was from England, so I guess you could say that was his pickup line (she really is from England). At some point during the night Will and Harriet exchanged their name tags which has become a memorable part of our story…”

The Proposal:

“Picking up the on the story of how we met. Will knew that he wanted to surprise Harriet with the engagement, so he worked in secrecy during his first few months in Philly to plan a night that would be memorable for them both. What culminated was a Tuesday night engagement! After selecting a ring and talking to Harriet’s parents, Will bought five poster boards and markers, and made five large name tags, writing one of the words “Harriet, will you marry me?” on each one. In their apartment, he laid them out in order in the front hallway and when Harriet arrived home from work, she opened the door to fine Will on his knee asking for her hand in marriage (she said yes). The night proceeded with a family dinner, and cocktails with friends afterwards.”
