12 Philly Halloween Dates with your BOO!

Hey Romeo and Ghouliet!  It’s that time of year again to pick the perfect occasion to show off your creative, sexy and quirky couples costumes.  Dance under the light of a silver moon as love casts its bewitching spell over the streets of America’s oldest, and most haunted, city.  There will be ghastly great goodies and frightening tales, graveyards with curses and gauntlets of ale!  So compose your corpse, buff your broomstick and pack your potions for unearthly amounts of Halloween fun!

1. Drink Philly Halloween Boat Party

Starting at 6pm on October 28, set out on the sparkling Delaware River for three hours of dancing, Halloween fun and beautiful city views.  There will be seasonal brew selections and a buffet menu that will have all you vampires and ghosts goblin up the whole table!

2.  Shake Shack: Shack or Treat!

Have fun this weekend decorating yourself in creepy Halloween gear and then make a quick stop to your local Shake Shack!  Come dressed Saturday October 31 and Sunday November 1 and get a FREE scoop of deliciously decadent hand-spun custard!  Yum!

3. Fright Factory

Break through the fog and enter into Fright Factory’s dark and completely terrifying corridors.  For the entire month of October you have the perfect excuse to grab on tight to the person you love (and scream in their ear).  With every tight turn and haunting scene, intense fear taunts you until you are released from the building’s trenches.  If you get out.

4. Halloween at Morgan’s Pier

Fall Fest at Morgan’s Pier comes to a close with a magical masquerade on All Hallows Eve.  October 31, head out with your soul-chilling soulmate or ghostly gals at 9pm to enjoy dancing and an open bar from top shelves to bottom.  Witches will be cackling into the night over delicious drinks as werewolves enjoy the full lit moon over the river.

5, True Tails from the Tomb at Laurel Hill Cemetery

On Mischief Night, embark on a not-so-typical candlelit date through Laurel Hill Cemetery.  Prepare for hair-raising tails of the dead in Philadelphia’s oldest tombs.  At the close of your journey you can warm up from those chilling stories with hot cider and cookies.  People are dying to get into this graveyard (get it?)!

6. The Boogey Man at the Trestle Inn

Philly’s only whiskey and go-go bar is ready to boogie with THE Boogeyman!  The Trestle Inn knows how to party with Bourbon Pumpkin Cocktails and $5 “Boogeywides”.  They’ll start off with an 8pm screening of 80’s horror flick, The Boogeyman, and finish you off with rad disco from 10pm-2am.

7. Glow in the Graveyard: Outdoor Yoga

The radiant light of flickering lanterns and glow bracelets with guide your way through a sea of gravestones October 28th.  From 6:30-7:30 Philly Yoga Factory brings outdoor yoga with live music to St. Peter’s Churchyard.  You’ll be so relaxed from a calming flow that they might have to just bury your right there in Corpse Pose.

In case of inclement weather, the event will be rescheduled for Thursday, October 29.

8. Dazón de los Muertos: A Halloween Salsa Party

The Studio at Take the Lead on Pine is offering a spicy night of salsa dancing in costume.   Bring your drink of choice and an optional mate for music, dancing and prizes!  The fun happens October 23 from 9pm-1am to celebrate the Day of the Dead(ly awesome time)!

9. Western Ghost Town at The Twisted Tail

October 31 from 3pm-2am, The Twisted Tail is having a Western Ghost Town Halloween bash in their whiskey saloon!  Watch fire breathers and burlesque dancers blaze through the cobblestone streets of historical Headhouse Square.  Enjoy live music from their house band or check out the fortune teller to see if your true love will last forever.

10. Ghost Tour Philadelphia

Those in the mood for spooky stories should head out on a ghostly tour among the alleyways, homes and graveyards of America’s oldest and most haunted city.  Listen to terrorizing tales of America’s Founding Father’s and visit Benjamin Franklin’s headstone as haunting spirits sinisterly skulk in the shadows of your walk.   The chills you will feel are probably not from the breeze.

11. Official Halloween Pub Crawl

You’ll wake up the dead stomping through the streets of Philly with this Halloween party!  Show off your costume all night popping from one Olde City bar to the next on this enchanting expedition.  Enjoy every drinkers delight with specials at every bar into the dead of night.

12. Terror Behind the Walls at Eastern State Penitentiary

Available until November 7th, your darkest nightmare lives within cold, concrete walls of the Eastern State Penitentiary.  This radial maze held notorious criminals such as Al Capone and Willie Sutton in solitary confinement, a structure which would drive any human into insanity.  It’s said those prisoners now haunt the cell wings waiting for their revenge.  You can decide whether or not you want to be snatched from the floor and taken into the depths of hidden passageways, but will you ever come back?
