How They Met:
“My husband and I met while working at a Philadelphia school. I was a teacher, and he was support staff. We ended up working on a project together, and we really enjoyed each other’s company.”
“My favorite moment from the wedding was the first look. Seeing the look on Albert’s face when he first saw me in my wedding dress was perfect. Everything about it was perfect.”
The Proposal:
“That morning he told me that he wanted me to get my nails done. I thought something was a little fishy because he usually never worries about my nails. I said ok and went on with my day. He, then, asked if we could go to New Hope for dinner. New Hope is where we had our first date, and I couldn’t have been more excited to spend the evening there. On our drive there, he was nervous. I could tell because he kept fidgeting while driving and shifting in his seat. I left something at my parents’ house, which is on the way to New Hope. While we pulled up to my parents’ house, he put on a recent song that he sang to me at our house that we both immediately fell in love with, “Crazy for you” by Adele. I jumped out of the car to run into the house really quickly. I hopped out of the passenger door, and as I walked around the car, I see him there on one knee. After the proposal excitement, he confessed that it was supposed to happen in New Hope, but he just couldn’t wait any longer. It was beautiful regardless.”
“Wedding planning was exciting and definitely a lot of hard work. After we got engaged, we actually found out I was pregnant! So, between pregnancy and being a first-time mom, wedding planning was definitely challenging. Luckily, I had a lot of support, which made it all worthwhile.”
About the Venue:
“We chose to get married at my parents’ house because it is absolutely beautiful, and it is my absolute favorite place in the world. It is the house that I grew up in, and it is the very last house that my grandfather ever built. The house is surrounded by woods and just has a very welcoming atmosphere.”
Wedding Inspiration:
“Albert and I love antiques. It was our mutual hobby when we first started dating. From the beginning of our relationship, we would spend time finding antique shops and refinishing old furniture together. My sister and her wife attended a wedding just before ours where they had Forget Me Not Vintage Rentals as their stylist. The bride and groom raved about how fantastic it was to work with Renee and Derek, and my sisters both adored their wedding style. After meeting Renee and Derek and viewing their inventory, we were 100% on board. They style amazing weddings, and we knew it would be perfect.”
Wedding Planning Advice:
“My advice would be to plan early and try to get the small details situated a week before the big day. During your wedding week, you’re filled with a lot of emotions. You want to spend that week getting excited, not bogged down in stress. Try to leave at least the last couple of days before the wedding free to decompress and get ready for the best day of your life.”
Wedding Vendor Experience:
“I had a phenomenal experience working with my vendors. Everyone that was on my team was fantastic. The professionalism throughout the wedding planning as well as during the day of our wedding allowed everything to go as planned. It was a dream, and I would highly recommend all of the vendors I worked with.”
