Marissa Brennan owner and lead artist of Pretty On Arrival, has perfectly produced the elegance of Spring within her trend-worthy bridal beauty looks! These gorgeous hair and makeup demonstrations paired with the chic bridal fashions of Lovely Bride result in an illustrious inspiration for the urban Philly bride. The advantage of the industrial setting cultivated at the Maas Building serves as the perfect backdrop to complete the pretty visual of urban elegance. This shoot is all about softness + pretty vibrant hues, and we are loving every elegant element!
From Marissa Brennan: “My vision for the shoot was to showcase a variety of different bridal beauty looks that are trending for the spring. I wanted to put together a shoot that Philadelphia brides can relate too – something that’s urban but pretty. I thought of the bride who loves industrial & rustic spaces but also wants to still look pretty. That’s why I chose to use the Maas Building for the backdrop of our shoot – not only does it have a very spacious open floor plan to be used as a wedding venue but it has an amazing metal staircase that leads you up to a room full of beautifully rustic brick walls.
Courtney McKenzie’s love of using natural light was the perfect way to capture the true essence of the Maas Building as well as the beauty of our models. The Maas Building has enormous windows that shine a massive amount of sunlight into the space & Courtney was able to use that to create naturally flawless photos.”
“I wanted the dresses to exude pretty so I left that up to Ivy Kaplin at Lovely Bride Philadelphia. She has such a knack for being able to pick the perfect style gown for any type of bride. I gave her a general idea & she knew exactly which style gowns were trending for spring brides to be! Two piece dresses are a huge trend for today’s brides & there’s no better time to wear a long flowy skirt & a lace top than on a lovely warm spring day.”
“Our model Adriana is Philadelphia & NYC based with a vibrant & refreshing energy that I think really came across in her photos. Michelle has such an edgy look that I feel a lot of Philadelphia bride’s to be can relate too.”
“Hair & makeup was key in order to highlight the looks of trending spring bridal. I decided to do a couple looks to appeal to the different types of brides. As always I love to keep bridal makeup as simply natural as possible; the way I did this was by keeping the eye makeup to a minimum, enhancing the models natural beauty & adding pops of color to the lips. Nothing says spring like a pop of coral on your lips! A big trend for spring is loose flowing waves for your hair & as always you can never go wrong with a braid!”
