Charming Modern Wedding at Tendenza by Bee Dee Blue Photography

Erin and Eli’s modern day fete was a memorable day from start to finish.  This dynamic duo has a lot of love and a whole lot of charisma, which led them into creating the most beautiful day for their amazing celebration!  Bee Dee Blue Photography perfectly captured their abundant passion, and pride for their timeless romance and for their city, Philadelphia.  The Tendenza was the most decorous venue option for this simplistic industrial styled wedding.  This phenomenal event was complete with chic florals crafted by Beautiful Blooms, a lavish cake, and an incredible “Cirque du Soleil” performance!  We just can’t get enough of the Rolos and we want to send a big congratulations to the newlyweds!

How they met: “Eli and I met for the first time in 2010 at a bar in Philadelphia. We had a mutual friend that I was speaking with, and Eli came over to say hello. I was in a rush to get back to my other friends, so I quickly said hi and walked away. Needless to say, Eli had a pretty bad perception of me from then on. Flash forward to 2013 when we met again at an Art Gala, through a non-profit that we were both involved with. After about an hour mingling with other friends our paths finally crossed again and we started talking. We spoke for a little bit, and I invited him to come to the bar with us afterwards. Eli said he’d try and stop by, but never did. The next day he Facebook messaged me to set up a date. We went out that following Monday, April 8th, 2013 to Audrey Clair and we were inseparable ever since.”

How he proposed: “Eli proposed on Saturday, August 29th 2015. We went to brunch with Eli’s best friend and wife at Sancho Pistolas. Since it is in the area of the house we were building I suggested that we walk over to show them. Unknowingly to me, Eli and the other couple were already planning on walking over to the property. Once we got to the location Eli pulled me closer to the construction site. He started talking about our future and spending the rest of our lives together. Unfortunately, the building process on our new home was taking longer than planned so I wasn’t too thrilled about the entire project and everything he was saying at that point. Next thing I know he starts getting down on one knee! Everything was a complete shock to me, and I started laughing because I sometimes suffer from nervous laughter. The entire moment was amazing, and our good friend captured it all on video. After saying YES to marry him we all headed over to Frankford Hall where our closest friends and family joined us to help us celebrate.”

Wedding planning: “When it came to planning our wedding I continuously went with my first gut reaction for everything. Whenever I would second guess myself I remembered that I fell in love with that particular flower arrangement or invitation for a reason and to not question it. It’s definitely hard to get too caught up with pinning on Pinterest or reading wedding magazines. You should always remember what your vision is!”

What do you love most about Philadelphia: “Philadelphia is such a wonderful city because it’s large enough to walk around and get lost, but not TOO large like New York. All of the different neighborhoods in Philadelphia are within walking distance from each other, and it makes exploring that much easier. Eli and I are both foodies, and we’re definitely into checking out all of the new restaurants. We currently live in Fishtown/Northern Liberties so it’s great to see all the newness popping up. Philadelphia offers tons of festivals, concerts, museums, free events and activities that make it easy to keep busy and get involved.”

Favorite memory: “There is no way that we could ever pick one memory/moment from our wedding day, because the entire day was absolutely amazing! I think our first look was extremely special. We set everything up in the hotel lobby. I came down the stairs, and walked over to Eli whose back was to me. Our Bridal Party and family watched on as I tapped him on the shoulder and he turned around. He was so thrilled and happy to see me that he definitely teared up a little! It was also an exciting moment when the Rabbi announced us Husband and Wife. Eli stepped on the glass and everyone screamed Mazel Tov and cheered! We then shared our first kiss together as Husband and Wife!”

Wedding inspiration: “Our wedding was definitely inspired by our venue, Tendenza. The space at Tendenza offers so much of its own charm and characteristics that we wanted to keep our colors very minimal and simplistic. It is a very modern space, so we definitely focused on that while planning our wedding.”

“The entire day was definitely a whirlwind of emotions. We can both agree that the morning was calm while we got ready with our Bridesmaids and Groomsmen. Eli’s groomsmen ran into some difficulties though when it came time to tying their bowties. They had to watch several YouTube videos to try and quickly learn! The day became more emotional when I had my first look with my dad, and also with Eli. We were then filled with excitement while we went around Philadelphia taking pictures with the Bridal Party. Nervousness set in closer to the start of the ceremony, and I definitely felt the nerves as I walked down the aisle. After we shared our first kiss excitement set in once again, and we partied the night away!”

Wedding planning advice: “When planning your wedding you should definitely remember to keep a to-do list. I had started one in my phone that we both shared. We would add to it, make notes on it and cross things off as they got done. It was easy for us to see the process we were making, and what was left to get done before our big day. Couples should also remember to try their best to RELAX on their wedding day. I know it’s easier said than done, but if you get too wrapped up with some of the small details it will be harder to let go and fully enjoy yourself. Lastly, remember to enjoy the time with your husband moments after the ceremony when you can sneak away for some alone time together. The entire day is going to FLY so you want to remember to share some special time together before enjoying the rest of your wedding.”
