Childhood sweethearts Alyssa and Alex share a love like none other. Friends since junior high they were destined to be man and wife! See just how this beautiful coastal chic affair was captured by their photographers.
From the photographer, Tami & Ryan Photography: “Four and a half years ago, we had the honor of capturing a Punta Cana Destination Wedding. During our time there, leading up to the wedding, we were able to hang out with, and get to know a ton of their guests and their bridal party. We were lucky enough to meet Alex & Alyssa (and her family! They are so much fun!) Throughout the years following, we were on the edge of our seats waiting for Alex to propose – because we knew he would! Just getting to know them and get a small glimpse of their love for each other, even back then, it was inevitable that these two would some day make it official!”
How They Met
“My husband and I met in 6th grade. We were good friends for many years and then we began dating our junior year of high school. We dated for about 10 years before he proposed!”
The Proposal
“Alex took me out on our boat and said we were going to dinner. I threw off his plan when I said I wasn’t really hungry and didn’t want to go to dinner and just wanted to cruise around. So instead since it was so beautiful out, we anchored the boat at Corsons Inlet and he popped the question while we were just hanging out on the boat. Of course, I said YES! He said he wanted to wait until sunset but he was too nervous and couldn’t wait. He had everything planned out with our family and friends for the weekend. Our family was waiting back at our shore for us to celebrate. The next day he had it planned for all of our family and friends to surprise me on the beach for a big celebration and then a party at the house afterwards. It was absolutely perfect!”
Wedding Planning
“Planning our wedding was fun and went smoothly! My girls helped every step of the way making sure everything that needed to be done was getting done (especially my mom and sister)! It was a little stressful with all the details but it was totally worth it in the end.”
Yacht Club of Sea Isle City
“We chose the Yacht Club of Sea Isle City because it truly is exactly how we both imagined our wedding would be. We love being down the shore and love being on the water. It was the perfect venue because we were able to exchange our vows on the dock overlooking the bay where we spend most of our weekends on the boat. We also love anchoring close to there to watch the beautiful sunset on summer nights.”
Wedding Inspiration
“Our inspiration for the wedding was the bay and scenery. I knew with the view and breathtaking sunset from the venue I did not need a fancy décor. We went for everything white, grey, beige and simple.”
Best Moment
“The best moment was seeing all of our family and friends around us sharing the love with us! The energy in the room was amazing and indescribable. “
Wedding Planning Advice
“Try to enjoy the planning and every moment because the actual day goes by so quickly!! Don’t stress about the small things because if something doesn’t go as planned or look like it should no one will know but you! The guests will think everything is great no matter what and will not know the difference!”
Vendors
“Every vendor was great to work with! Everyone was able to answer any questions we had and were always there to help us. We built a relationship with them and they were there to make sure we were getting exactly what we wanted out of our wedding day!”
