The strikingly elegant Lake House Inn befell as the dazzling setting to Christian and Tracey’s wedding ceremony and reception. Wine colored berry hues come to play through the moody floral arrangements crafted by Sullivan Owen. Along with the beautiful blooms, the elegant decor and cohesiveness of colors and design was photographed brilliantly by With Love & Embers. Every precious memory from this joyous celebration shows the beauty of two souls united. This charming couple shares a tantalizing tale of their budding romance, and the momentous occasion that completes it. The inspiring details below are the result of two design gurus who fell in love, and together they planned a wedding that was beautiful in every way!
How They Met:
“Christian and I met at work, but not quite with the typical meet-at-work story. We’d been friends and coworkers for a while, (well technically he was one of my boss’s, as I started as an intern designer and he a Creative Manager). We ended up eventually sitting across from each other and would send post-it note paper airplanes to each other all day long. Then a few months go by, a few more post-it airplanes, and we end up going away on a work trip together. Needless to say, he won me over that weekend, stole me away from my long-time college boyfriend, and the rest is history.”
“Being someone who always thought the engagement on the holidays were a faux-pas, and he knew that, he really threw me off. It was coming up on an anniversary of that first work trip weekend, and Christian thought I’d suspect it then. So, Christmas morning came along, and by our fireplace, sitting under the tree having coffee and finishing opening gifts, just the two of us, he pulled out a box. But not a ring sized box, so again, I was thrown off. It was a box of all of our saved post-it notes over the years. As I read through some, he egged me to go on a little faster, and I came to the end where he had added a few more, and then pulled out the ring-sized box! Somehow, I still hadn’t seen it coming, and cried and said yes!”
“I think the best moment from the wedding day was probably when my veil fell off walking down the aisle! It was a blessing in disguise, because I think the entire church, including me and my dad walking down the aisle, were about to lose it. It took a lot of the stress and emotion off the moment and made the rest of the day feel like it was only up from there!”
Wedding Planning Experience:
“The wedding planning for the two of us was fun for the most part! Both being designers, we obviously spent a lot of time figuring out stationery and other DIY add-ons, but our families and friends were also right there helping every step of the way. The most stressful part was leaving all of those DIY things till the last week or two, since we’re both such procrastinators, but we couldn’t have been happier with how everything turned out!”
Wedding Planning Advice:
“Best advice I can give is make sure to split up the to-do list! The bride should never try to take on the stress of all of the planning on herself, and I was so lucky to have a fiance (and friends and family) that understood that and was willing to help wherever I told them to takeover. Stay sane, because it’s only one day in your whole life, and most of the time, if it’s not captured in photos or on film, nobody will ever know anything was wrong!”
