Emily and Ryan’s wedding fell upon autumn. Their exquisite decorations and rustic setting at Duportail House created a classic, fairy-tale like vibe that captured the magic of their union. The floral arrangements by Belovely were essential to the complete look of this wedding. The extra burst of colorful flowers were in tune with the classical, vintage theme. Through these enchanting photographs, taken by With Love & Embers, we can sense the love in the air, along with the strong bonds between the friends and family of the bride and groom. The bride walked down the aisle with a delicate Liancarlo designer dress, purchased from Elizabeth Johns. It seems to be the perfect choice and succeeds in bringing out the elegance of our bride. Overall, the components of this wedding complemented each other greatly. A beautiful and memorable October day.
From the Bride: How we met: I wish I had a more exciting story for you, but ours is the classic ‘met through a friend’ story. One of my coworkers, Nate, knew Ryan through Villanova. Nate and I became very good friends, and I started spending time with his group. Over time I got to know Ryan– it was definitely not love at first sight! One night Ryan asked for my number and we went on our first date at Distrito on Cinco de Mayo. He was incredibly funny and charming, and we’ve been together ever since!
How he proposed: Ryan planned to propose the weekend of my first half marathon, but got so nervous by that Friday, he couldn’t wait. He called me at 5 a.m. and asked me to take off work, so I had an idea what was happening but he still managed to surprise me. He hid the ring in a new pair of running shoes—when I opened the box, I found his grandmother’s ring. I ran my second half marathon in my ‘proposal shoes’ a few weeks before our wedding!
About our wedding day: It was just perfect, and I’m so grateful to all of our family, friends, and amazing vendors who made it possible. We got married on October 18 at Duportail House, and it was a beautiful fall day. Ryan is from Florida and I am from Texas, so this almost a destination wedding in some ways. As two people from states without real seasons (in Texas we just have hot and hotter) we wanted our friends and family to see the city we had made our home at its best.Picking a venue was the hardest part of wedding planning. Once we found Duportail House, everything else fell into place. I was fortunate to work with the most talented wedding vendors (all of whom were also wonderful people!) Our photographers Ryan and Jill captured every moment of the day and we are so happy with the photos. They share our anniversary so it was extra special that they spent the day with us.

From Photographer: It was a beautiful October day, that we hold so dear, that we said I do and became husband and wife. Six years ago on October 18, 2008 we were married on a beautiful, if slightly cold, fall day. It is a day that we will always hold dear to our hearts for the obvious reasons, but also for the reasons that aren’t so straight forward. It was a day in our lives that we celebrated the love that we share, a love that we shared for 4 years with ups and downs. A love that we have shared for almost a total of 11 years now. It was a day that we loved so openly, honestly and fully with our closest family and friends, some of which sadly was the last time we had a chance to share our love with, but that propelled a passion that we’ve been lucky enough to share with some amazing couples.
October 18, 2014 we shared a day with Emily and Ryan. A day that was truly an honor to capture and even more of an honor to share with these two. It was a day filled with anticipation, love, happiness, and so much joy that took us right back to our own wedding day. Shooting a wedding on our anniversary, sharing our love and passion with an amazing couple and their friends/family really is one of the biggest and truest gifts that we could give Emily and Ryan.
It was a beautiful day, the leaves were changing, the sun was shining, and it was the perfect setting for a Duportail House wedding. Emily and Ryan shared their love amongst their closest friends and family, smiling, laughing, and crying tears of happiness. The love they share and the love they celebrated is such a true and honest love, they made capturing it so easy with their openness with one another. They weren’t afraid to just be who they are, show their true couple essence and it truly shined through in the images. We truly couldn’t be more thankful to have had the chance to be with these two, to capture their day and to celebrate all of the love that they have on a day that is now so important to both of us.
