If there’s one thing this couple has, it’s definitely charm! Shelby and Nick will make your heart flutter as they happily celebrate their engagement. These two love-birds are huge Phillies fans, and we absolutely adore their matching tees that have their wedding date on the back (how cute)! Philadelphia’s Historic District was the perfect setting to capture photos of love and the antiquity of this city. How They Met:
“Nick and I actually went to the same high school, just at different times. He graduated as I was just entering high school. We had a mutual friend so we always knew of each other. We never had a formal meeting or introduction until we began talking on Facebook (so original), he invited me out with him and his friends one night, and we’ve been together since.”
“Nick is always so happy and positive; I absolutely love that about him. He is my absolute best friend, and he can always make me laugh and smile, even on my worst days. I love that we have so many of the same interests, and can have fun together wherever we are.”
The Proposal:
“Nick and I went on a trip to the Bahamas in June with his entire family. On our last night after dinner, we took one last walk around our hotel (Atlantis) to look at the fish and sharks. He took me to his favorite spot that he used to walk to with his grandmother. I walked ahead of him and when I turned around he was on one knee. He really had me fooled because people asked him on our trip (many times) when we would get engaged and he always said, “Not for a while, I have to know for sure before I do that.” He did a great job of keeping it a surprise!”
Engagement Session Inspiration:
“One of our very first dates was to a Phillies game and we still watch the Phillies play every night together, so I knew I wanted to incorporate that into our pictures somehow. Once we picked our wedding date, I ordered custom Phillies shirts with our wedding date that we could use for Save the Dates. Our mothers both wanted formal pictures as well, which prompted the outfit change. Nick actually suggested Independence Hall (I had never been) and it was a beautiful spot for pictures!”
Wedding Planning Experience:
“Our experience wedding planning has been awesome so far. We chose our venue, and I’ve started trying on wedding dresses. Nick has already told me that I can choose everything for the wedding except the food and the cake, which he wants to be apart of choosing.”
Engagement Session Experience:
“Kerry is absolutely amazing! She made Nick and I feel so comfortable right away. I love her creativity and how she made the session fun and laid back. After our session, I told her that we would love to have her there to take pictures on our wedding day because her pictures were perfect!”
