Sweet Engagement Session in Fairmount by Honeycomb Photo
Destined Love in Philadelphia
“In dreams and in love, there are no impossibilities.” — János Arnay
Amanda and Jeff are undeniably head over heels in love! Since the moment that these two met, it seemed like destined fate. Honeycomb Photo exceedingly captured every the moment where their love shined through as they strolled through Fairmount. Keeping the couple’s Philly theme in mind they adventured over to the Philadelphia Museum of Art for some stunning skyline candids and a few unexpected shots along the Schuylkill Banks! We are loving every photo and the storytelling narrative from the bride, for more inspiration keep scrolling to read more about A+J’s sweet love story.
From the Photographer, Honeycomb Photo: “If you are an optimistic person and believe that everything happens for a reason, you will like how these two met. Amanda forgot her keys, and instead of going the far distance to get them between home and work, she went to her friend’s house. And just guess who was there. We will give you a hint – he is pictured by her side. This friend now constantly makes sure to remind Jeff who is responsible for their meeting. You never know when love will strike.
These lovebirds made an entire day out of their engagement session, utilizing Amanda’s hair and makeup trial so she could see how it would appear on camera and look extra fly for her photos. This gorgeous couple explored the art museum grounds, in the city that means so much to them.
Engagement session tips from the bride-to-be and photographer:
1. Wear comfortable shoes for your session
2. Utilize your hair and makeup trial
3. Invest in an engagement session with your photographer for 1-practice, and 2- getting to know your photographer
4. Use your photos! Amanda is using her photos for “save the date” magnets to send her wedding guests.”
How They Met
“Amanda had moved out to Philadelphia to begin work in Center City. One night she got home to realize she left her keys back at work. She returned to get them and ended up meeting with friends in the city instead of returning home again. Jeff happened to be hanging out with the friends that Amanda met up with that night. Years later Amanda still wonders if it was a set up (lol). We turned out to be from the same town back in NJ, and the night we met we talked for hours as if we had been friends for years.”
“I love that Jeff is so attentive and detail oriented. That really makes my heart flutter when he wants to be so involved. Even in the wedding planning process, he wants to help make choices from what music will be played during the ceremony to making sure I have help with my dress.”
“I love the way Amanda looks at me (without sounding too mushy). Seriously, that’s how I know.”
“During our baby shower in front of all our friends and family, Amanda was told to open gifts starting with the gift from Jeff. It was a personalized onesie that said ‘Say Yes’ on one side and “Will you marry Daddy?” on the other. Amanda only saw the “Say Yes” side and started crying like a baby. Then out came the ring from Jeff’s pocket.”
Engagement Session Inspiration
“We were both raised in NJ and settled in PA. We will be getting married in Philadelphia at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Peter & Paul. We have guests coming from NJ, NY, MA, RI, NV, DE, CA, MD, DC, FL, AR, plus two international locations! So we really wanted to give our guests some nice Philly views on our save-the-dates to set the theme.”
“All vendors were booked 12 months in advance! We’ve been planning well over a year now, and it’s all been a learning experience, mostly about each other! We’ve learned to be more patient, to communicate better with each other and to trust that everything will work out!
Take these two situations as examples:
I fell in love with a dress in Chicago that was way over my budget and five months later they sold me a brand new sample of the same dress for %50 off!
Then with the church, we were concerned that the Basilica would look too ’empty’ in pictures and then the priest offered for our wedding to be during regularly scheduled mass to include parishioners! We are excited to have the public present on our special day! The more blessings, the merrier!”
“Kerry had the same vision as we did! And she is laid back and funny too! She definitely did her homework on the area we chose to be at for the session and directed us in all the right ways.
We went through ten photographers before booking Honeycomb! We are so thankful we found them! Kerry had the same style we were looking for as far as photo perspective (views, backdrops, etc.), context (getting the right details), and catching candid funny/natural shots. She also loves taking photos of kids and pets, which we can’t wait to see what adorable pics of our son she will catch at the wedding! We are at ease knowing the documentation of that day is in good hands!”
