Brittany and Nick are blushing with affection, as they proclaim their love as a newly engaged couple! Snapped Studios brilliantly photographed their loving expressions together with beautifully vibrant Philadelphia scenery. This lovely duo, and their super sweet pup, Ruxin, explored the Fairmount neighborhood posing in front of the most vivid murals, and their lovely adventure was complete after shooting an amazing color bomb segment! This engagement session is bursting with color, exuding genuine love, which all resulted into an eminently gorgeous work of art.

How They Met:
“Nick and I met at Drexel University, when I was visiting one of my high school friends – they were dorm roommates. We went to the same high school for 2 years and had a few mutual friends, but never crossed paths. We spent a couple of years as close friends, always knowing there was a little extra spark there, and in the fall of 2010 decided to try dating. 6 years later, we’re planning our wedding!”

From the Bride-to-be: “Our photographer, Snapped Studios, took us back to our favorite part of the city (Fairmount/Art Museum area) where our relationship began, six years ago. We now live in Manayunk, but love to make Sunday visits to the area for coffee & breakfast at our favorite spot – RyBread, with our Australian Shepherd pup, Ruxin. We spent an hour or so wandering the area and snapping street shots when we stumbled upon Mike Smith’s amazingly colorful love mural. What could be a more perfect backdrop for an engagement shoot!?”

“What I love most about Nick is his optimism and sense of humor. Even on my worst days, Nick has an unparalleled ability to make me laugh, and keeps me at ease. He is the yang to my very Type A yin.”

“After taking a handful of urban shots, we wanted to do something with more of an ethereal, woodland vibe, so we went to a secluded area in Fairmount Park, did a quick wardrobe change, and set off a turquoise smoke grenade. Our amazing photographers were so open minded to making my crazy, colored-smoke vision come to life.”

The Proposal:
“In May, Nick and I took a trip to Italy for a little getaway. We started the vacation in the little coastal town of Manarola, in Cinque Terre. Cinque Terre (Italian for “five lands”) is comprised of 5 small, pastel colored villages along the Ligurian Sea. In the beginning of the 20th century, a footpath was created for railroad workers to move between two of the towns, Riomaggiore and Manarola, during the construction of the tunnel between the two villages. Legend tells that this little trail, now known as the via dell’Amore (lovers’ lane), became a meeting place for lovers from the two towns. Tourists now take the path and secure a “love lock” along the coast and throw the key into the sea, symbolizes their never-ending love. Of course, we had to pay a visit & put up a lock while visiting Manarola. While I was preoccupied with affixing our lock to a fence, Nick was down on one knee with a beautiful engagement ring!”

“Our wedding planning has been pretty smooth so far! We fell in love with the first venue we toured, and it helped me quickly form a vision for our entire wedding. Fingers crossed that the rest of the process is as easy.”

“We are beyond thankful we found Snapped! I highly recommend them to any bride, mama or family in the tri-state area; they do more than just weddings. Nick and I are both very uncomfortable in the spotlight, but Jill and Tom made us feel so at ease during our shoot. They turned what could have been an awkward experience, into a fun day out with friends (that just happen to lug around cameras)! Every location we went to in the city, they had a great vision for the photos and helped guide us in front of the camera. They were were so open minded to making my crazy, colored-smoke vision come to life. I can’t imagine having anyone else capture our big day!”
