Weddings hold a certain balance of love and celebration, so I think it’s safe to say a ceremony wouldn’t be complete without a reception! Brûlée Catering accommodated this intimate wedding reception with enticing small bites, a wholesome dinner, cake/dessert along with signature drinks. Heather and Jennifer celebrated their love with family and friends at The Liberty View Ballroom which is right in the heart of Philadelphia history! We love the cherished feelings of this wedding, and most of all we enjoyed hearing about the awesome love tale that has been cultivated between this awesome couple!
From the Bride: “When we first decided to get married, in the summer of 2013, shortly after the Supreme Court ruled that a key section of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) was unconstitutional, same-sex marriage was still not legal in Pennsylvania. The tides of history were turning, and DOMA’s demise was only going to hasten those changes, but we couldn’t wait for Pennsylvania to catch up. After 11 wonderful years together, we were ready to be married. So on December day in 2014, we got married in Jersey City, New Jersey, surrounded by a small group of family members.”
“But Philadelphia is our home. And our plan was always to have our wedding reception back at home, surrounded by everyone we wished could have been at our actual wedding ceremony. We have been blessed to be surrounded by the most amazing people – from our incredible families to our awesome friends – and there is no shortage of love and joy in our lives. Our December wedding was for us. Our wedding reception, which took place on a gorgeous May evening, was for everyone else! It was our way of saying “thank you” to all of these amazing people whom we have had the privilege of knowing.”
“What better location to celebrate our marriage, and the changing tides of history, than at the Liberty View Ballroom, where our view was none other than Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell? The ballroom itself was beautifully decorated in red and silver, and the outdoor terrace was a sight to behold – fully covered with a tent, blooming flowers, and gorgeous lighting. The food – exclusively catered by Brulee Catering – was outstanding. People are still talking to us about the Lobster Mac and Cheese Ravioli and our delicious wedding cake baked by Executive Pastry Chef James Rodebaugh. The cake was topped with a red ‘LOVE’, fitting for a Philly wedding.”
“Start to finish, it was one of the best nights of our lives. It was a joyous evening, filled with absolute love. We wouldn’t change a thing.”
