Heidi Roland Photography gracefully captured the beauty of Lori and Andrew’s exciting engagement news! This couple is super sweet together, and their intimate session includes, very relaxed vibes, gorgeous scenery of the Valley Forge National Historical Park, and some very cute puppy love. The love shared throughout this day was eminently withstanding to the bitter cold weather, which you wouldn’t even notice because of the pure joy in this couple’s eyes. How They Met:
“Andrew went to college at Penn State. In April 2007, a friend of mine from college (who was friends and went to HS with Andrew) had asked me to visit PSU for the weekend with her and her boyfriend, which I did and that is where I met Andrew.”
The Proposal:
“On Tuesday November 8, 2016 (a day before my 30th birthday) – Andrew proposed before work. That night, we already had dinner reservations planned with both of our families to celebrate my birthday, and when we got there we surprised everyone telling them we finally got engaged (after 9 long years). (I had to keep the secret ALL day until dinner to surprise our families, but I did tell a few of my best friends that morning!)”
“The thing I love most about Andrew is his sense of humor. Oh, and hes a good dancer!”
Engagement Session Inspiration:
“The inspiration I had in mind for our engagement photos was relaxed, fun and to be ourselves, nothing forced, and of course, our dog Polo to be involved. Heidi loved the idea and went with it.”
Wedding Planning Experience:
“We basically had the wedding planned within 2 months! The experience so far has been great.”

“Heidi Roland is AWESOME! She made the engagement shoot a lot of fun (despite the high that day of 24 degrees). She was very patient with us (and Polo) and open to the ideas that we had, not to mention, she also traveled to various locations in Valley Forge National Historical Park for the specific shots that we wanted. I would recommended her to future brides who are looking for a laid back, easy to work with and all around amazing photographer. We are very excited and looking forward to her shooting our wedding day.”
From the Photographer, Heidi Roland: “This Winter engagement session was cold! It was in the 20’s on this winter morning! The kind of morning where you can see your breath, and was the first really cold day that we have had so far. Lori and Andrew were troopers! Thank goodness for the wonderful sunshine that gave us warmth, and added gorgeous light for their engagement photos. Winter engagement sessions can be chilly, but I have found that they are often quite beautiful as well. I love the stark landscape contrasting with the remaining greenery. There is something so cozy, romantic and magical about winter. Polo(their sweet pup) came along for the photos sporting the cutest sweater a dog could possibly have. I just adore Polo’s look. Lori and Andrew are lucky enough to live right next to Valley Forge National Historic Park so that’s where we decided to do their session. How nice to have such fantastic outdoor space in your backyard! I loved the evergreens in the background, giving that classic wintry, holiday feel. We made a few stops throughout the park to some of their favorite locations. These two have been together 9 years already, and their love for each other radiates. Photographing engagement sessions are one of my favorite types of shoots. You get to really spend time, and get to know the couple. It helps everyone get comfortable, and ready for the wedding day. I always encourage booking an engagement session as part of your package. They are so much fun! Lori and Andrew will be getting married this summer at the lovely Blue Bell Country Club in Blue Bell PA. I am so happy for this lovely couple and I simply can’t wait to be a part of their wedding this August! I will be sure to post their wedding photos so stay tuned”
