Rustic Boho-Chic Wedding
Piper and Dustin’s rustic wedding at Morris Arboretum features the prettiest details and an abundance of lovely flowers! The gorgeous rustic bunches created by Laughing Lady Flower Farm and the bride’s Rue Du Seine gown were just a few elements that defined their theme. This couple’s blossoming love story is one for the books and we almost cried hearing about their sunrise mountain proposal. From the Photographer, Erin Krespan Photography: “Piper and Dustin got married at The Morris Arboretum of the University of Pennsylvania on a beautiful, sunny day! They were relaxed all day long and knew how to have a good time. Piper wore a gorgeous Rue De Seine dress which matched their boho themed wedding perfectly. Piper’s bridesmaids wore flower crowns and were so much fun to be around. Dustin cracked jokes the whole day and his personality and joy were fun to watch throughout the day. Piper is an incredibly talented painter and made all of the signage for the wedding day. They had a hand painted wedding cake with gold accents that were to die for. Their families were very involved throughout the day. Piper’s sister and brother in law sang and played guitar while they worshipped and Dustin’s oldest brother wed them. We did their bridal portraits, keeping with Piper’s boho theme, in a greenhouse and in the middle of the woods. The lighting was fantastic! They both had smiles plastered on their faces the entire day and it was a joy to witness. They ended their party with a lavender toss exit!”
How They Met
“We met at Cairn University. Dustin sat in the back row and I sat in the front of our class. He had a crush on me all semester and finally realized he had to ask me out before I transferred schools!”
The Proposal
“We were on a family vacation in Virginia, and he woke me up early to go watch the sunrise at the top of a mountain. For some reason, I had no idea he was going to propose! He had a soundtrack set up in the back of his truck as we watched the sunrise, and on the last song (The Emotion by The Borns) he asked me to marry him!”
Wedding Planning
“I had a clear vision of what I wanted and was able to find everything I needed pretty easily. While it was, of course, stressful, I had a truly enjoyable and wonderful time planning my wedding!”
Morris Arboretum
“We knew we wanted to get married outside, so I searched for gardens and outdoor venues. Morris Arboretum was actually the first and last venue we looked at. We immediately fell in love with the gardens, buildings, and the staff who worked there. We immediately knew this venue was definitely where we wanted to have our wedding take place.”
Wedding Inspiration
“Our wedding inspiration was a culmination of both my style and a bohemian-inspired garden party (“Wait, like bohemian rhapsody? What?” – my husband). I just wanted something that was filled with plants and flowers!”
Best Wedding Memory
“Definitely, for me (Piper) it was walking down the aisle and our entire ceremony. I spent so much time and effort on planning the decor and reception party, that I didn’t realize how incredibly wonderful and special that moment would be. I wish it could have lasted longer!
Dustin says his favorite memory was knowing that both of our families were there to watch us start our new life together and being able to share that moment with everyone we love.”
Wedding Planning Advice
“Get to know your vendors and work with them! They will help you get exactly what you need. & DIY with moderation. It’s so easy to become overwhelmed, so try to allow yourself to give up control on somethings and not try to do everything yourself! I did a few DIY elements (like signage and seating cards) and that was just enough.”

“My vendors were absolutely amazing. Everyone was kind, helpful, and stress-free! I can’t say enough wonderful things about Andrea from Company’s Coming Catering, my cake from the Night Bakery, our flowers, and everything else! It was wonderful to have such caring, personal, and helpful vendors helping us!”
