Tis the season for love, giving, and proposals! Tom set up the perfect surprise proposal for Colleen set behind the radiant small block of Addison Street, and Noreen Turner photographed every precious moment from this memorable night. Moments like these we rarely get to see, it’s usually the engagements and weddings that are exemplified for couples in love. After all, the proposal is where it all begins, and we’re so excited to share this lovely Philadelphia proposal!
From the Photographer: “Addison Street is not your typical city neighborhood. Located in the Rittenhouse Square area, this quiet, tree lined street is lit up with beautiful twinkle lights all year round. The townhouses are the perfect backdrop to the magical lights. Tom knew this was the perfect spot to propose to Colleen but how do you bring someone to this spot “unexpectedly”? Tom and Colleen made plans to celebrate Tom’s birthday at El Vez but since Colleen wasn’t too familiar with the neighborhood, Tom took her to Addison Street first. This is where he popped the question and where she, of course, said yes!”
From the Bride-to-be: “Tommy and I both attended the same high school; he was a senior and I was a sophomore. We had always walked passed one other in the hallways, but had never interacted with one another until we were both at the same house party one weekend. We had begun texting one another the day after the party, and 8 ½ years later we are now engaged! What I love most about Tommy is that he is such a genuine and thoughtful person. Even after 8 ½ years, he continues to amaze me and give me butterflies.”
“When Tommy proposed to me I couldn’t stop thinking to myself, is this really happening?! I could not stop smiling and did not want to stop kissing him. Of course, I couldn’t keep my eyes off of the gorgeous ring either! I felt like it was all a blur, and I’m so happy he had a photographer to capture this special moment. I am so excited to marry him and can’t wait to start this new chapter in our life and spend the rest of my life with him.”
“Tommy and I had the date set and the venue booked within one week of being engaged! The photographer and DJ are currently in the works of being booked, and we decided on a purple wedding scheme. Our wedding is less than eleven months away and we couldn’t be more excited for October 2016!
Once Tommy and I are married, I hope we continue to have what we have now: laughing with each other until our stomachs hurt, going out to eat at least once a day, lazy nights in our pajamas, and most importantly, an infinite amount of love for one another. I also hope we have a beautiful house, and eventually, a happy and healthy family of our own.”
