Cairnwood Estate has a royal elegance all on it’s own, and once you witness its beauty you’re in love forever! Chris and Quinn added their own regal touch by styling the perfect setting for their wedding day. This couple is charming us all with their undeniable chemistry, and we can’t help but love their style as well (who knew wearing a tiara on your wedding day could look so glam)! This bride pulled out her DIY cards, by creating her own makeup look, and her mom handled the floral arrangements and decor. Bri Johnson Weddings did not disapoint when it came to capturing this couple’s special day and all the details that made this wedding unique. This couple’s wedding was sweeter than sweet, and it all came together so perfectly.
How They Met:
“So a guy walks into a bar…we met at a bar four and a half years ago. We went on a date the very next day to see a terrible movie (‘Admission’ with Paul Rudd and Tina Fey. Who knew it would be that bad?!), left early, and got ice cream. Chris then surprised me by coming to my comedy show and date #2 occurred. We’ve been together since.”
“Chris proposed in OBX in September 2016 on the beach, almost in the ocean, hours before a hurricane. He’s daring.”
Wedding Planning Experience:
“To be honest, planning a wedding is sort of a waking nightmare. It’s a second job (on top of your normal job).”
About the Venue | Cairnwood Estate:
“Cairnwood Estate is a historical French chateau with a ton of character. We chose it because it would give our wedding an intimate feel – similar to a really classy house party. There were several rooms for guests to wander in and out of so that they didn’t feel bored or claustrophobic. Plus, the estate is insanely gorgeous!”
Wedding Planning Advice:
“Let other people help you! I made the mistake of not wanting to burden my fiance (now husband) or my family with the planning. As a result, I have new gray hairs.”
Best Wedding Memory:
“Seeing my husband in the custom sneakers I drew for him almost four years ago. Chris told me that when I gifted him those sneakers (known now as my business, Qustom Quinns), he secretly knew he would wear them on our wedding day.”
Wedding Vendor Experience:
“Some vendors were absolutely wonderful and others…were not. I saved money and stress by having my mom do all of the decorating and my bridesmaids’ bouquets. Her work turned out WAY better than vendors vying for her spot. In the end, you live, you learn, and your wedding is awesome anyway.”
