Alison Leigh Photography brilliantly captured the days events of Nicole and Chris’s picturesque wedding. Middletown Country Club was this couples venue of choice, which provided the most perfect outdoor scenery and indoor reception. Beautiful blooms, succulents galore, beautiful silhouettes and soft pinks + neutrals were just a few key ingredients to this rustic country club wedding. But wait there’s more. . . Federal Donuts outdid themselves with their heavenly Donut tower cake creation, and you definitely have to see it to believe it! Keep scrolling for more inspiring details, because this wedding was definitely one made for the books!
How they met:
“I was living in Chinatown and Chris was living in Fishtown at the time. We met at the Fox and Hound downtown at their famous $2 Tuesday. In college all of my friends would meet there on Tuesday’s and decided to have a reunion that night. Chris was with his friends and walked over to the bar and we started talking. We realized we are both from the same area in Bucks county and talked all night. Before our engagement shoot we stopped by to reminisce.”
How he proposed:
“Chris was really sneaky and bought my engagement ring at our favorite antique auction without my knowing. That same day we drove to Harrisburg to celebrate the wedding of our friends Marc and Jen. Chris got down on one knee and proposed to me right there on the dance floor and had our song playing. This was all with permission from the bride and groom of course.”
Wedding planning experience:
“My experience was really stress free. I had so much help from my family and friends. One of my best friends Rachel Gallo hand painted all of our wedding invitations and did the calligraphy through out the wedding. Chris and I have always loved Federal Donuts and were so excited when they said they could do a donut tower for our wedding. Our friend DJ Kevin Kong agreed to DJ our wedding and was so helpful in helping us schedule the whole day. He also helped us find David Jaffe who officiated our ceremony. Picking our venue was easy for us too. We chose the Middletown Country Club in Langhorne, Pa where my parents met as teenagers.”
Wedding planning advice:
“My advice would be to research the things you want at your wedding. I really researched for a photographer I wanted and found Alison Leigh Photography on Instagram and loved her photos. For our engagement shoot she took us to all of our favorite Philadelphia spots and even made my camera shy husband-to-be feel comfortable. Doing an engagement shoot let us get to know Alison and helped us feel more comfortable on our wedding day. I suggest doing an engagement shoot.”
Best memory:
“I have so many amazing memories from our wedding day like the special moment with my dad right before he walked me down the aisle and turning the corner and seeing Chris at the end of aisle. I must say our favorite moment of the day were the speeches made at the reception. All of them were both hilarious and loving. Anyone who was at our reception would agree.”
