Longwood Gardens is an illustrious terrain filled with gardens, woodlands, and meadows covering over 1,000 acres of land just outside of Philadelphia. The beautiful landscape of Longwood Gardens in the Fall was the loveliest backdrop to Valerie and Charles engagement session. Ryan Eda Photography captured the outdoor beauty of the gardens, and the immense beauty of this couples engagement joy all into a gallery of pure artwork. The vibrancy of this newly engaged couple paired with the captivating beauty of this rustic setting, equates into an engagement session that is beyond lovely! How They Met:
“Charles and I met at work. We both worked at a residential facility as caregivers for children with autism. We worked on the same shift so we got to know each other quickly. We were friends for quite a few months before we started dating.”
From the Bride-to-be:
“I’m the serious one so I love his ability to be carefree and silly. He encourages me to take each day as it comes and not worry about everything. He keeps me smiling even in the toughest times. I also love his thoughtfulness. I’m always coming home to “just because” presents, most of which are things I actually need but don’t buy for myself.”
The Proposal:
“The proposal is a funny story. When he proposed, we were already together for seven years. We also live together. The night he proposed, we had his family over for dinner. As soon as they left and I was cleaning up, he came up behind me and said “I guess I should give this to you now.” (because it had been so long). I turned around and he had a ring. Then I said “Is that real?” (because I thought he was joking). After a little clarification from both of us, since I needed him to actually ask me the question, we were engaged :)”
Wedding Planning Experience:
“Wedding planning has been a pretty good experience so far. It’s very different attending a wedding versus planning one. I find myself obsessing over things like escort cards, programs or centerpieces when I can’t remember a single one from a wedding I’ve attended. I also really enjoy getting to execute the vision that Charles and I have created for the day.”
From the Photographer: This engagement session was shot right at the beginning of fall. The session landed on a perfect day as it was seasonably mild and comfortable outdoors. Their location of choice was Longwood Gardens at Kenneth Square, PA. A magical place that is just stunning all year round. We wandered through the part where we saw a lot of the colorful foliage. They started off with a relaxed outfit, with Valerie accenting her top with a scarf and Charles with a very casual button up shirt. For the second look they wore jackets, as daylight faded, the temperature started to drop as well. Their favorite photo was the wide landscape photo in the garden which they have now printed as a 20×30 metal print. Lastly, on our way back home, we stopped at the Cira Centre to get the Philadelphia Skyline as our backdrop for their fashion inspired evening look. Valerie rocked it with her knee-length casual dress and Charles was dapper in his full grey suit. This is the variety and style that we are known for which we provide to our wedding clients. I really can’t wait for their wedding this coming April of 2017! We had so much fun at this shoot.
