A Rustic Wedding with Romantic Details
Sarah and Matt’s whimsical wedding was full of romance and the prettiest details! Set at the Green Valley Chateau, this outdoor summer celebration featured light pinks and green in a lovely color palette with pops of glitter and gold. We adored the reception decor provided by LEO Design Gallery, and every detail was cohesive and oh-so-charming! Alison Leigh Photography beautifully captured this couple’s lively nature, their friends and family, and every unique element that made this day truly inspirational! How They Met
“Matt and I met in a high school science class, where we became the best of friends before dating. He used to always ask for a pencil because he never had one and I used to cheat off of his tests.”
Wedding Inspiration
“I was going for a very romantic and whimsical theme. I used blush, gold, and a soft green as my inspiration. We incorporated gold geometric terrariums into our centerpieces and at cocktail hour to give us a whimsical feel. I used soft pink peonies, roses, and lots of dark greens in the floral arrangements and lit a lot of votives throughout the tables to create that romantic summer vibe with a pop of gold. “
“My favorite DIY project we did was our seating chart. I found the idea off of Pinterest and I couldn’t wait to execute my vision for this. This piece was something that all of our guests would see when they first came into the reception, so it was extremely important we got it right. We made it out of wood and chicken wire and then hung our table numbers on the chicken wire with small close-pins. I asked the florist to drape flowers over the top and it turned out beautiful!”
Green Valley Chateau | ViVa Catering
“We came across our venue when we were visiting a different venue owned by the same company, and the wedding coordinator suggested it to us for a more intimate feel. We knew we wanted to take advantage of having a summer wedding, so the Green Valley Chateau Tent was perfect for us. It allowed the natural light to come in and during golden hour, it was beautiful!”
“One of our favorite memories from our wedding was spin the bottle on the dance floor! A bunch of our friends starting “spinning the bottle” and if you were the lucky one that the bottle landed on, you needed to go in the middle of the dance floor and show off your moves! This became such a hit that this has now become a tradition at every wedding we’ve been to since ours. My only regret is that I did not have a videographer there to capture the moves on camera.”
“Matt and I were looking forward to our wedding day for years. We were dating for almost ten years before finally saying, ‘I do.’ I think our photos are special to us because it was capturing a day that we have waited for what it seemed like forever. Our family and friends have been our support system for our entire lives, so seeing everyone celebrating us and our relationship is something very special.”
