Eclectic Wedding at Artesano Gallery and Iron Works

Artesano Gallery and Iron Works is an artful hidden gem located in the Manayunk neighborhood of Philadelphia.  Colleen and Bryan loved the eclectic feel of the space and desired a wedding that was inclusive of their relationship and their loved ones.  Every thoughtfully designed detail was inspired by a personal memory or an affinity of a family member.  Like the beautifully designed flowers by Papertini that incorporated the Bride’s favorite flowers and the Groom’s love of beer influenced the hops in the boutonnieres.  Granted Asya Photography was behind the lens to photograph every special moment and intricate detail that make this wedding truly unique!

About The Venue | Church of the Gesu:

“The ceremony was at the Church of the Gesu, a baroque style church with a 72-foot marble altar. In 1966 the school attached completely burnt down but the church was saved. Before the church became part of the school, it was a Parrish church that Bryan’s Grandparent’s belonged to. Now, Bryan works as an administrator at the attached school, St. Joseph’s Preparatory School.”

“The bride’s flowers were a collection of Colleen’s favorites from an arboretum we visited often at JMU and were also inspired by Bryan’s time as a landscape designer. The groomsmen wore hops and succulents on their lapels because we love succulents and beer. Colleen’s brother, one of the groomsman, is also a brewer.”

About The Venue | Artesano Gallery and Iron Works:

“The reception was in Manayunk at Artesano Gallery and Iron Works. We chose the venue because we appreciated the eclectic decor, artwork, and unique layout. We loved that our guests were able to seamlessly float inside and outside while being a part of the celebration. The food was plentiful and absolutely delicious. The attention to detail by the staff on the day of was impressive, and allowed us and our guests to enjoy every minute of the celebration.”

“The table arrangements were a collection of foods and layered greens to touch upon Bryan’s passion for cooking and Colleen’s passion for eating. The colors on the table were navy and gray and matched the suit selection of the groomsmen. This served to represent Colleen, her brother, and both of her parents served in the US Navy. We offered bags of coffee as favors at the conclusion of the reception. Our love for coffee is well known among our friends and early in our courtship, we would often make time to share a cup between classes at JMU. Rival Brothers Coffee is not only our favorite coffee but we felt also had sentiments connecting us to Philadelphia where Rivals Brothers are located and where we now call home.”

Wedding Inspiration:

“Our wedding was designed to bring our family and friends together to help us celebrate our union and future. We did not focus on a particular theme. We just tried to make sure all of the people important to us and to our relationship felt loved and included. Each design element was selected because it represented us and our relationship in some way. Though each element may not have fallen into a particular color scheme or thematic program each element was hand selected and was inspired by us and our loved ones.”

Favorite Memories:

“Much of our family is spread out across the country. The thing we will remember most is having a day where everyone was together enjoying their time. The Father of the Bride and Mother of the Groom dances were of particular importance to us. It meant a great deal to us to have that moment with our parents. Our guest refer to our wedding as the “Dance Party” and I do not think any guests, servers, bartenders, will soon forget the amazing music from the band that brought everyone to the dance floor, and of course cousin Jim’s dance moves.”
