Julian and Megan’s Old City Engagement Session

How did you and your fiance meet?

We met at our friends wedding in 2016 and we both were in the wedding party. There was an instant connection but we didn’t see each other for another 5 years before getting together.

What do you love most about your partner?

Julian: From the moment I met Megan she always felt like home. Her thoughtfulness, her beauty, her gentle blue eyes, I knew I was in trouble from Day One. It also helps that her goofy sense of humor matches mine!

Megan: If the feeling of home could be a person, it would be Julian. He is such a genuinely kind person and a joy to be around. He is the calm to my storm and holds such a wonderfully positive outlook on everything in life. I know I can count on him for anything and he will always do things with a side of humor. Along with his beautiful hair and looks, he has added such love and light into my life by simply being him.

How did he propose?

Julian proposed along the shoreline of Myrtle Edwards Park in Seattle, WA. We had traveled all the way there to attend the long awaited Taylor Swift concert for the weekend. On the last day of our trip we were sightseeing at the Space Needle and decided to go for a walk at the nearby park. It was a special private moment for the both of us and there were many happy tears.

What was your inspiration for the engagement photos?

We centered it around where we lived in Old City so we could capture ourselves and all the memories we have made there. We knew we wanted two looks that showed our personalities while capturing us in the moment that not only felt romantic but had a spontaneous feeling. The Merchant Exchange Building area was the perfect spot because it felt timeless and there is a small cobblestone path that we have walked down many times on our way home. We stumbled on John F. Collins park in Center City when attending another wedding, so we immediately knew it was the perfect spot to convey our casual look that felt cozy—especially for a pocket park in autumn!

How has your experience been so far? or how DID it go?

Yes, we are currently in the middle of planning – we are getting married in 2025. It’s been smooth so far and we are currently focusing on vendors and the look of our big day. The first thing we booked was Alli for our engagement photos so we are off to a fantastic start!

How was your experience working with ALN IMAGES?

We loved working with Alli. From the first moments when we reached out to her with our ideas to the day of our engagement shoot, we knew we picked the perfect person to capture this special moment. She has been communicative, flexible, and open to all of our ideas and questions. We enjoyed watching her work and could tell how passionate she is about her craft. Most of all, when we saw her work we immediately loved her eye for composition and how she captured moments so uniquely and naturally. We couldn’t be happier and we can’t wait for her to photograph our wedding!

What makes you two unique to Philly?

Philadelphia will always be special to us because it’s where we started to fall in love. Julian lived and worked in Old City and after a few months of plane and train rides from upstate New York, Megan moved in and got to experience Philly full-time. Our first date was dinner at Buddakan followed by drinks at Time and a stop at our favorite bar, Glory.
