We can never get enough of fall, and all of the joy this season brings. Hope Helmuth Photography dreamt up a moody urban shoot which was brought to life with the help of some talented vendors! The Italian Market is a quaint area for photos, and the vibrant colors of the neighborhood were the perfect contrast to the dark and moody vibes of this shoot. As artists, (and real-life couple) Breanne Furlong and Mars Parker, brought their own authentic nature and style to this photo session. From the Photographer, Hope Helmuth Photography: “This editorial features a real couple in their South Philadelphia neighborhood. We wanted to create a deep rich color palette inspired by the changing of the seasons. Our goal was to combine city sophistication with a fun urban edge. Ariel Katrina Hair went with a simplistic voluminous look for the hair, which was later transitioned to a minimalist evening updo. Makeup by Emily Dimant went with a matte nude eye topped with a vintage-inspired cat eye. The berry lip pulled this moody fall look all together perfectly. Hope Helmuth Photography styled the shoot in BHLDN gowns as well as the couples own personal pieces. Our models Bre + Mars happen to be talented Philly creatives. Naturally, they had a plethora of unique accessories and vintage pieces to incorporate.”
“The streets around the couples home are filled with charm and character which served as the perfect backdrop for our portraits. We were lucky to find the Italian Market nearly deserted. The neon lights beautifully lit up this rainy day as the vendors finished packing up their produce for the day. We transitioned to a night look featuring leather garments down by Front Street. Philadelphia is truly a beautiful and eccentric city with hidden streets stuck in time. Although the neighborhoods are quickly becoming more modernized and rather unrecognizable, there is still tons of nostalgic appeal if you look for it. South Philadelphia is filled with grit and heart!”
