Tami and Ryan Photography brings us these very lovely summer soiree just in time for the warming weather.
How did you and your partner meet?
Troy and I met the summer of 2015 in Sea Isle City! I caught his eye at the Ocean Drive, and like they say the rest is history.
How did your fiance propose?
We took a trip to Kefalonia, Greece with some family and friends. They planned a fake brunch on a boat by Myrtos beach. He proposed at the top of the mountain overlooking Myrtos beach. It was such a beautiful location, afterwards we celebrated at a beach bar.
What was your experience in planning your wedding?
Planning our wedding was one of our favorite things to do, everything was working out perfectly. We were engaged in August and all our major vendors were booked by the end of September. Then, March hit and along with that came the pandemic. That is when we started to stress, and the planning came to a pause. Nobody told us how to continue planning when the world was shut down. People would ask us questions, and to not have any answers kind of discouraged us. After some tears on my end, we sat down together and Troy said in the end no matter what happens we get to marry each other. We found the one who we get to spend forever with, so we can’t let this hiccup bring our happiness down. In the end we ended up with TWO beautiful days. June 13th we had our wedding in the church I grew up in which ended with a backyard pool party. And on September 18th we were able to celebrate with all our friends and family at the Renault Winery, where my best friend “married us” again.
Tell us about your venue, and why you chose it?
The beautiful and magical Renault Winery! Our last night in Greece we were just looking at venues online to get a feel for what we’d want. We knew we’d need a place that held at least 300 people. I always wanted an outdoor tent wedding, but as soon as I saw the brightness and elegance I needed to see more. We instantly fell in love when we visited in person, even though it was under complete construction. Throughout the pandemic they kept us in the loop of the renovations and restrictions that were in place. The Champagne Ballroom was a vision, clean, open, huge chandelier, a WINERY, and of course a golf course for Troy! What more could you want? Our ballroom was brand new and breathtaking. It surpassed the rendered images they showed us when we first toured.
What was your inspiration for the wedding?
I always wanted a wedding in early summer. Our original plan was June, but even our postponed date in September the weather was absolutely perfect. Our inspiration was to create a romantic and whimsical experience for ourselves and our guests. I love warm neutral tones and candles. I knew I wanted candles everywhere to get that romantic feel. We also wanted everyone to be on their feet, so music was a big part of our wedding.
What was the best memory/moment from your wedding day?
There were so many! But, we’d have to say our first look! We blew up two HUGE balloons filled with confetti and in order to see each other we had to pop them. We were laughing and smiling the entire time. Troy’s reaction was amazing, all you could hear was “Woah you’re hot!”
What advice can you give to couples planning a wedding?
Enjoy every second! Make it a team effort, and do not forget it’s not just a party it’s your marriage. It’s your day, so try not to let other people’s advice sway you.
What was your experience like working with your vendors?
Our vendors were a whole dream team. Our photographers were there for us throughout the whole pandemic working with us as we had to switch dates and always had the best advice. Not only did they snap photos for us in September, but at our minimony in June too! Our videographers were so fun, and created such a great memento. I still tear up watching our videos. Our DJ came in at the last minute after our band had to drop out due to covid. He swept in a week before and gave us the musical vibe we needed. Everyone was up dancing, I don’t think we left the dance floor. Our flowers and centerpieces couldn’t have been more perfect. I wanted simplicity but with that touch of romance, and it was delivered.
