ALN Images once again brings us a stunning wedding with some epic black and white photographs. Lillian and Nick wanted a formal yet fun wedding day that also celebrated the faith that they share. We know you’ll love the touching letter Nick gave to Lillian during her getting ready. And you will fall in love with the striking portraits ALN Images captured at the Water Works. Enjoy!
How did you and your partner meet?
We met on Hinge! Neither of us really expected to meet anyone serious on the apps, but both thought we’d give it a try. We’re so glad we did!
How did Nick Propose?
Nick flew up to Boston for what was supposed to be a one day trip to visit when I wasn’t working. Little did I know he had planned a several day celebration! He made me dinner and then took me to mass and brunch (something we had bonded over from the early days of our relationship) and asked me in a garden outside the Cathedral in Boston, my favorite place in the city.
What was your experience in planning your wedding?
Wedding planning was so much fun! Of course it was also stressful, but dreaming of our special day was the best motivator for me. I was lucky to have a sister who had recently gotten married in Philly, so she passed many of her tips along which was extremely helpful.
Tell us about your venue, and why you chose it?
Our ceremony was at the Cathedral of SS. Peter and Paul and our reception was at the Marriott Downtown. I’ve always wanted to get married in the cathedral since I was a little girl; it’s such a beautiful and holy place! We found the Marriott by sheer luck and we’re so glad we did. It was so beautiful and the staff there helped everything run so smoothly. We really wanted a venue where we could keep everything centralized, and the Marriott offered us a place to host the rehearsal dinner, get ready in the morning, have a beautiful reception, and host brunch the next day. It was the perfect place to stay, especially for our guests coming from out of town who wanted a home base to experience Philly!!Â
What was your inspiration for the wedding?
We wanted a formal feel for the event, but we wanted it to be fun too. So many people were traveling to be there so we wanted to have it be a whole day affair that showed off how great of a city Philly is while sharing some of the most important spots to us there.
What was the best memory/moment from your wedding day?
For me, the best moment was sitting on the altar of the cathedral looking out at all of the family and friends who had come to be with us on our wedding day. It was such a beautiful and unique moment that I realized I would never experience again!
What advice can you give to couples planning a wedding?
Have fun with it! This is your day — there won’t be another time when you can make a day exactly the way you want it. The day of goes so very quickly you’ll want to remember every second, and enjoying the planning process was a huge part of the whole experience of getting married.
What was your experience like working with your vendors?
We were so lucky with our vendors. We got married at a very popular time, and I was worried people would book up far in advance (and they did). But everyone we worked with was so professional and experienced which made a huge difference for us. We really trusted that they would help us have a great wedding day and they all came through!
