When this couple heard a new fountain exhibit was opening, they knew Longwood Gardens would be the perfect place to take engagement photos! Alex and Pete were naturals behind the camera, and their love was perfectly captured by Jordan DeNike Photography. Every photo shares their budding love and every bit of gorgeousness that is nested in one of our favorite engagement locations. Their sweet style and story are just a snippet of what’s in-store for their upcoming spring wedding!
From the Photographer, Jordan DeNike: “Although Alex is from where I live (near Scranton!), her + Pete live in Philadelphia and invited me down to shoot their engagement session at the beautiful Longwood Gardens. They’re season pass holders and really wanted to shoot at the new fountain exhibit and capture their love at one of their favorite places to spend a weekend day. We shot the week the fountains opened and it didn’t disappoint. I loved getting to wander around the greenhouses to a few of my favorite spots and being able to capture their love. The fountains give off some major European vibes! These two are so comfortable with each other and made it so easy to photograph them that it truly just felt like I was hanging out with friends. They’re the type of couple I would “pose” and then they would do their own thing and I would be like, “Actually, do that! Do what you’re doing!” Their wedding will be held just down the road at Penn Oaks Golf Club this upcoming May.”
How They Met:
“My fiancé and I actually met while working together. He would always head to the break room so he could pass by my office, and ended up wasting a lot of coffee before finally getting up the nerve to ask for my number!”
“I love Pete because of how caring and thoughtful he is. He is always thinking about ways to make others smile. When I’m with him, I can’t help but feel happy.”
The Proposal:
“Pete proposed during Saturday brunch in our home. He made breakfast, popped champagne for mimosas, and got down on one knee after his toast! I love that we’ll always have that moment to ourselves. Little did I know that all of our family and friends were waiting to surprise us at a party later that evening to celebrate!”
Engagement Session Inspiration:
“We had spent so much time at Longwood Gardens prior to our engagement session. We love that it’s a place we can escape and just focus on the beauty of life. When thinking about our photos, it was easy to decide on the Gardens. We knew they’d photograph beautifully and we would feel comfortable there.”
“We’ve been wedding planning for quite some time now. Having a longer engagement has allowed us to take our time and spread out all of the tasks, which definitely helps with the stress level. Pete and I also have a very similar style and vision for the wedding, so it’s been easy to agree on things.”
“Jordan DeNike has been such a blessing. She is so calm and relaxed, but also detail oriented. She knows how to get organic, true love to show in her pictures, which is what made her stand out. I knew our pictures would be beautiful with her behind the camera. We’re so excited to see what she’ll do with our wedding in May!”
